Youth Fellowship: Back Pack Drive
Its about that time of the year when summer is starting to wind down and the commercials for back to school supplies become more frequent. While most kids will have no problem getting their supplies for the year, the situation is not the same for others especially children living and going to school around our church area.
To respond to this need, one of our youth members brought up a great idea! Lets have a backpack drive for a school in need! We have selected First Philadelphia Charter School for Literacy http://www.firstphiladelphiacharter.org/why.asp as the educational institution to whom we will be providing school supplies.
This is what we will need:
- Fully loaded back packs for K-4th graders to include 2 composition books, set of blue/black pens, 1 set of crayons, 1 tube of glue, 1 ruler, and anything else to your discretion that a child may need.
- Donations of $40 or more.
Our goal is to make at least 50 backpacks!!!
OUR DEADLINE IS the Labor Day weekend!
Most importantly, keep this in prayer as God has given us another opportunity to help those who are truly in need.
