From the Vicar’s Desk

Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God in his mercy has given us a new year in our lives. Once a student in a college who received only five marks out of hundred in the exam asked the teacher, “Sir- five marks out of”. In fact he deserved to get zero, but the teacher gave him five marks. The teacher was surprised that the student had the audacity to ask “Sir out of”? The teacher answered “out of mercy.” If we ask God why God is still preserving us, God would
answer- “out of mercy”.

Every New Year God gives us one more chance to produce more fruit in our lives. But if year after year our lives are fruitless in personal growth, empty of good works, then we are a barren fig tree. Instead of blaming others and our circumstances, we have to take responsibility for our own lives.

New Year is a season of grace. Now is the time for us to reform our lives. Now is the time to make whatever changes are necessary that the fig tree in the Lords vineyard will bear more fruit in personal growth, prayer and service to others. We have to look forward to plan for the year ahead and to look back to analyze the past experiences. Remember with gratitude all the blessings God showered upon us. Long will be their list-physical, material and spiritual. We hear David exclaiming “Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not His benefits.” (Ps. 103:2) Memories of the blessings received will rise up new hopes about future. We must take a pledge to take up the responsibilities God entrusted to us. Our lives will become blessed when we have a goal to attain and a work to do. Each moment of time has meaning and value for us in the context of Jesus Christ. We have to make the best use of this precious gift of time by acting in the right time. Find time for the worship of the Lord. Spend time in the reading of the Scripture. They will a “lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.” Let us come closer to Christ and give ourselves more to the will of God.

I express my sincere thanks to the office bearers of the church: Vice president, Secretary, Trustees, Lay leaders, Members of the executive committee and the church building committee: Convener, Co-Convener, Leads, and Members of the Building committee for their valuable service.

May God bless us all.

Wish you all a happy and blessed New Year.

With prayers
